Daniel F. Getty received his Bachelor's of Science in Economics from Radford University in 1996. While at Radford, Dan achieved the rising senior award in Economics, by being rated number one in the department of economics and thereafter was inducted by Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society in the top 10% of the business department.

Dan then attended the University of Dayton, School of Law, receiving his law degree in 2001. Dan graduated with honors, being ranked 14th of 140 peers. During law school, Dan clerked for several local firms in the areas of personal injury, landlord/tenant, criminal, and civil litigation. While still in law school Dan obtained his intern's certificate thereby allowing him to litigate cases for clients since 2000.

Since receiving his law license in 2001, Dan has provided legal services to literally thousands of individuals. Dan's legal experience includes litigating through jury trial complex business litigation, and malpractice claims to complex felony criminal trials. In addition to his litigation and trial practice, Dan also focuses and has tremendous experience in Estate Planning, Probate Work, and Landlord/Tenant Matters. Additionally, Dan has experience in negotiating and drafting contracts from small to medium size businesses, commercial real estate transactions, and residential real estate transactions. Dan is a real estate investor himself and prides himself on his knowledge and ability to help local and out of state real estate investors with rental properties and otherwise buying and accumulating properties. In addition, since 2008 Dan has sat as Magistrate in the Dayton Municipal Court and now also sits as Magistrate in the Kettering Municipal Court. Accordingly, Dan's experience comes not only from litigating cases in trial, but also from being the judge of the cases being presented to him through his magistrate experience.

Dan has a special taste for litigation involving contested custody matters.  Dan Himself a single father had to fight the fight.  Dan has a special passion for these types of cases.  He supports Ohio legislation concerning equal parenting rights for both mother's and father's and believes strongly that children's needs are met with both parents involvement.  Knowing not only that he has the knowledge base, but the personal experience, has helped many clients feel more comfortable in the system.  

Born on Long Island, New York, Dan moved to Virginia with his parents, in 1986. Dan lived and attended high school and college in Virginia until moving to Dayton, Ohio to pursue his law degree.

Although Dan grew up in suburban Long Island, a good portion of his life was spent on the family's horse ranch located in an area of Virginia known as the Shenandoah Valley. Many days were spent working on the farm learning the disciplines of life. For work through high school and college, Dan not only worked on his family's farm, but also worked as a carpenter, eventually owning and operating a small construction business during the later years of college.

Dan's hobbies include skiing, hunting, boxing and fitness and spending time on his farm in Adams County, Ohio. Dan enjoys spending time with his toddler aged son and their dog, Diamond.  Dan has a passion for the ocean, outdoors and his son, and can never spend enough time around them.

In addition to running the law office, Dan has served as Magistrate in the Dayton and Kettering Municipal Courts. Dan also served as a Board Member of the Centerville Washington Township Historical Society. Dan has served on miscellaneous political campaigns.
